She was on her way home when a stranger approached her, asking for directions to the cafeteria. She pointed him the way, ready to leave but something about his hesitation made her pause. Instead of walking away, she stayed, explaining more clearly, almost as if she didn’t mind the delay. That day, the campus felt different. The wind moved through the trees with a strange intensity, and the shaded roads offered a quiet kind of comfort. It felt like a moment suspended in time. He smiled and asked if she would join him for lunch. She agreed, but only on the condition that she would pay her share. They sat together, talking nothing extraordinary, yet everything felt meaningful. Afterward, they walked along the wooded paths, exchanging numbers as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Days turned into conversations. Conversations turned into something softer, something unspoken. One evening, he invited her to a café. She got ready with an unfamiliar excitement. But in her haste, sh...

Marriage is an official , legal way in which two individuals become spouse. In a country like India wedding is celebrated in a very religious and magnificent way. Holding of eachother hand comes with taking up of responsibilities that includes both. I always wondered how marriage works? It's indeed an institutional value. But what makes one accept the other person? Do they know soo much about each other ? Or is it because of a few encouragable qualities that let one to view them with the special lens? A love that has blossomed between the two due to knowing eachother well leads to marriage or is it artificially made by the external factors? In the sense the individuals in some cases doesn't know eachother ,who haven't spoken to eachother, haven't known the likes and dislikes of the other and so on but still nod for the happiness of the elders. Will that few seconds of offering a cup of coffee and snacks to him and his family be sufficient to decide him as a...

It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow. I have not celebrated it in my 23 years of life, but I still wish to shed some light on it. I have always admired couples around me the beauty of eye contact between them, the cautious distancing, and the cutest of all, the height difference. Girls are always their dad’s little princesses. They are pampered at almost all ages. The love is unconditional this is known and admired by others. From a girl in the womb, carried by her mother for nine months, to the phase where her boyfriend carries her heavy bag, love is just magnificent. Love is meant to be felt. Emotions need to be acknowledged, and efforts should be respected. Boyfriends and girlfriends out there spend a lot on Valentine’s Day. I’m neither for nor against it. But I genuinely think love is built on understanding and living in reality. Social media buzz often drives people crazy to an extent where feelings are validated or approved only through gifting. Every well-to-do person can opt for it...

Beat on in faithful rhythm

The mornings are mist-laden, draped in cotton-soft clouds. A saffron surge of sunlight unfurls. Hens stir, sounding alarms to mechanical minds. Friends remain gentle, warm with quiet care. My heels aligned with the urgency of the moment, striving to chase a train already departed. Heavy breaths inhales and exhales held their strength, yet the roaming mind proved far more relentless. Home rests in stillness and ease, yet thoughts hum restlessly. At times, my family’s voices slip past unheard, while my heartbeat speaks with piercing clarity. The world beyond shows kindness, but the ache within my chest shows none. Beat on, in faithful rhythm for should you stop, the soul cannot endure.
